EARTH and the Cultural Route of the Council of Europe “The Phoenicians’ Route”, partners!

logo rotta dei feniciThe European Alliance for Responsible Tourism and Hospitality (EARTH) and the Phoenicians’ route decided to unit their strengths to promote responsible tourism in Europe in June 2012.

In Tuoro sul Trasimeno, a little locality of Umbria in Italy, the Council of Europe Cultural Route has organised an international meeting for its members inviting EARTH as the special guest. Then, both organisations partecipated to different common events as the next coming General Assembly of The cultural Itinerary in Sicilia from the 17th untill the 21rt of April 2013.

The Phoenicians’ Route network is constitute of national and international organisations present in 7 European countries, all working for sustainable tourism while the “Phoenicians’ Route” is present in 15 countries. It has been recognised by the Council of Europe as one of the 24 official international Cultural Routes. It includes the whole Mediterranean area and all the countries overlooking it, and is considered as the Route of the Intercultural Dialogue.

The two European networks are working together to increase the cultural value of the Phoenicians heritage of the Mediterranean according with the principles of Responsible Tourism. A great alliance which will inspire a lot of beautiful projects!
