“Rendez-vous” for the “European Realities of Responsible Tourism” Conference

Organised by our European network for Responsible Tourism, EARTH (European Alliance for Responsible Tourism and Hospitality), the “European realities of responsible tourism” conference will be held on Monday afternoon, December 2nd 2013, in Brussels.

The reunion will bring together a large number of international professionals, experts in the field of responsible, sustainable, accessible and social tourism.  Organisations such as the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), the International Organisation of Social Tourism (OITS), the European Network of Accessible Tourism (ENAT) and the European network of Regions NECSTouR will convey their views pertaining to responsible tourism in Europe.

Participants of the event will have the chance to appreciate not only the collaborative efforts made by the European Commission, but also the policies and actions presented by the European Social and Economic Committee.  All of which are in favour of a reasoned, sustainable and competitive tourism.

In addition, there will be a discussion and exchange of ideas relating to the experiences gained by the European civil society comparing those of 7 European countries and members of the EARTH network.

The theme of accessibility in tourism, such important and topical, will be also discussed and debated by the experts of the sector.  In closing, the network EARTH will present its memorandum to the European institutions, document combining the queries of the civil society, for a better representation of the principles of responsible tourism at a European level.

This unique conference will be held thanks to the support of the members of EARTH, of NECSTouR and the representation of the Provence-Alpes -Cote-d’Azur region in Brussels.
