The World Day for Responsible Tourism will be this year on “Communicating our commitment; risk or opportunity”. The international event is organised by the our partner International Coalition for a Responsible Tourism, and will take place on the 2nd of June 2015 in many countries in Europe, especially in France, Italy and Spain and even outside Europe.
Communicating our commitment : risk or opportunity ?
This year, the highlighted theme is communication and marketing with a global thinking about the disclosure of commitments from tourism operators and destinations. Should we communicate ? How ? Do real market opportunities exist ? Or is it rather an risk because of the “responsible tourism” stereotypes ?
In Paris, French and international experts will present their visions, views and experiences during three successive round-tables. In France, our partner the International Coalition for a Responsible Tourism is supported by different organisations, including our members ATR and ATES, and our partner Voyagons-Autrement !
In Madrid, a debate gathering a dynamic panel of experts of tourism but also social and environmental issues will be organised by CETR – the Spanish Center of Responsible Tourism (partner of our member Koan) and AEPT – the Spanish Association of Tourism Professionals. Professionals and students in tourism and other related fields are welcome to participate and help building a responsible future for tourism in Spain.
In Bologna, you will be able to participate to the IT.A.CÀ migrants and travelers : Festival of Responsible Tourism co-organised by AITR. It was born from the need to promote a new ethic of tourism and hopes to encourage citizens to actively participate in promoting sustainable and socially responsible development of the region.
